Our alternative access work is increasing all the time so some of our Scaffolders are also trained in Rope Access, using mobile elevated working platforms (MEWPs), cranes and erecting safety netting. Those people with additional skills or disciplines get priority in recruitment.
Many Rope Access Technicians are also Painters, working in difficult to reach locations. Our most common specialists are Non-Destructive Testers (NDT) or Welders. Many of our Rope Access Technicians move between client sites as required, or work for us on a short-term basis.
Usually working on our offshore contracts, our multi-skilled Painter/Blaster/Sprayers prepare surfaces using power tools, and mix and apply paint using the full range of equipment needed to protect our clients' assets.
Working in either our Cape distribution yards, or on-site supporting our scaffolding, painting, cleaning and insulation activities. Operatives are mainly involved in moving materials or personnel. General and Yard Operatives sometimes also use IPAF, MEWPS and forklift trucks. Many progress onto becoming trainees in one of our disciplines.
