Cape plc becomes Founding Partner of European Industrial Insulation Foundation
25 February 2010
Cape plc is pleased to announce that it has become a Founding Partner of the European Industrial Insulation Foundation (EiiF). The EiiF is non-profit foundation established to promote the benefits of industrial insulation as a means of achieving sustainability.
Created in early 2009 the Foundation, now comprising eleven of Europe's leading insulation contractors and manufacturers, is designed as a key resource for industries looking to reduce CO2 emissions in a business environment that is increasingly conscious of the need to operate sustainably.
Frank Jacobs, President of the EiiF explained, "Energy remains one of the key components of the operation costs of an industrial plant. But even though industrial insulation has been tested and proven to save tremendous amounts of energy by reducing heat loss, it still seems to be a forgotten measure in the industrial sector." Why is there so little focus on insulation in industrial businesses? "The answer is the lack of awareness," responded Mr Jacobs.
The EiiF is currently developing a wide range of tools for communicating the benefits of industrial insulation. In particular, it will raise awareness among plant operators, investors and government organisations, about the contribution that industrial insulation makes to energy efficiency and CO2 reduction, whilst delivering a typical payback time of just one or two years.
In the future the EiiF will also offer on-site consultations backed up by detailed software modelling. This will result in tailor-made insulation proposals that demonstrate the environmental and financial value of industrial insulation, moving industrial insulation to the top of the industrial agenda as a modern, cost-effective and easily-achievable first step to meeting sustainability objectives.
Martin May, Chief Executive of Cape plc commented:
"Cape is proud to be a Founding Partner of the European Industrial Insulation Foundation. As one of the world's leading providers of insulation services to the energy sector we are pleased to play a role in increasing global awareness of the economic and environmental benefits of industrial insulation."
