West Australia

Cape has been in Western Australia since 2007, but through acquisition of several key service providers across the country, our expertise and experience in the region spans 30 years. We support clients in the onshore and offshore oil and gas, power generation, minerals and mining, chemical, shipbuilding, steel, defence and commercial construction sectors.

We employ around 700 people in the region - many of them local - to provide a range of specialist services that includes scaffold and rope access, industrial cleaning, insulation and coatings, and material hoists. We have several established clients in the region, among them Alcoa, BHP and BP, who call on our resources, experience and expertise for a wide range of requirements on and offshore.

Some of our current maintenance projects in Western Australia include:

  • Alcoa's Kwinana, Pinjarra and Wagerup sites
  • BP's Kwinana site
  • BHP's Worsley and Olympic Dam sites

Our safety record in Western Australia is excellent, reflecting Cape's internationally recognised focus on achieving safer working environments. Repeatedly delivering contracts on time and within budget with no Health and Safety incidents strengthens our relationships with existing clients and attracts new business.

It's also our policy to source our workforce and materials locally wherever possible - on the Pluto LNG project we have introduced a 'Local Industry Participation Plan'. And we agree environmental management plans with clients on all major projects, which may include Indigenous Affairs and Cultural Heritage.

Cape is involved in many charities in the region, and helped build many houses for children's charity Telethon - who auction the buildings to raise money. We have also taken part in several charity events, including the annual 'Cool Night Classic' run, helping to raise much-needed funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
